Introduction
Welcome to Kongossa, a social media platform connecting people across Cameroon, Africa, and the world. By using Kongossa, you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”), which form a legally binding agreement between you and Cowries Money Company Limited (“Kongossa,” “we,” “our,” “us”).
If you do not agree to these Terms, please discontinue use of the service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Kongossa.
Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent.
Businesses and organizations must provide accurate registration details.
2. Account Registration
Registration requires a valid phone number or email address.
You are responsible for safeguarding your account, password, and PIN (for sensitive features like payments).
You may not impersonate others or create accounts using false information.
3. User Responsibilities
By using Kongossa, you agree to:
Provide accurate information.
Respect community guidelines and applicable laws.
Avoid using the platform for fraud, harassment, or illegal activity.
Not copy, modify, or distribute content without rights.
4. User-Generated Content
You retain rights to the content you post.
By posting, you grant Kongossa a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform.
Public posts are visible to anyone. Private content settings are respected.
5. Prohibited Activities
You may not use Kongossa for:
Hate speech, harassment, abuse, or threats.
Fraud, scams, or impersonation.
Distribution of child exploitation materials.
Posting illegal, harmful, or misleading information.
Spamming, phishing, or spreading malware.
Circumventing bans or restrictions.
6. Community Guidelines
Respectful communication is expected.
Violence, exploitation, or offensive behavior is not tolerated.
Local moderators and automated systems may enforce rules.
7. Payments & Monetisation
Kongossa supports Mobile Money (MTN, Orange), Flutterwave, and cards.
Creators may earn tips, subscriptions, or event revenues.
Fees, taxes, and deductions will be disclosed.
Fraudulent payment activities will lead to suspension or ban.
8. Advertising & Promotions
Ads and sponsored posts may appear in your feed.
Advertisers must comply with Kongossa Advertising Policy and local laws.
Users may opt-out of personalised advertising.
9. Intellectual Property
Kongossa owns all trademarks, branding, logos, and software.
Users may not copy, reverse engineer, or exploit platform technology.
Content creators retain ownership of their materials.
10. Privacy
Your use of Kongossa is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and protect your data.
11. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Severe violations (fraud, exploitation, hate speech) may result in permanent bans.
Users can appeal suspensions via complaints@kongossa.social
12. Reporting & Moderation
Users can report harmful content or accounts.
Reports are reviewed promptly by automated tools and human moderators.
False reporting may result in penalties.
13. Service Availability
We strive for uninterrupted service but cannot guarantee 100% uptime.
Maintenance, upgrades, or unforeseen outages may occur.
14. Third-Party Links
Kongossa may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for their content, practices, or policies.
15. Security
We use encryption, fraud detection, and access controls.
You must not attempt to hack, exploit, or disrupt the platform.
16. Disclaimers
Kongossa is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee accuracy of user-generated content.
Users engage at their own risk when relying on content.
17. Limitation of Liability
Kongossa is not liable for damages arising from misuse, outages, or third-party content.
Liability is limited to the maximum permitted under Cameroonian law.
18. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cowries Money Company Limited from claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the service.
19. International Users
Users outside Cameroon are responsible for ensuring compliance with their local laws.
By using Kongossa, you consent to data transfers in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
20. Data Retention
We retain account information as long as needed to provide services.
Users may request account deletion.
21. Updates to Terms

22. Dispute Resolution
